Q1 earnings are right around the corner...
What do you think they will look like?
Not asking what actions IBM will take, we all know what they are!

So essentially, Rosamillia shined and Rob Tobasco failed miserably again!!!
the Z15 saved the quarter, otherwise it would have been a miss... as usual!
IBM Reports Earnings on Monday. What to Expect. --

Count me in the camp with the UBS analyst.
My tiny little corner of IBM will actually grow.
However, all the other products that I share a "portfolio" (read: common vice president) with will decline. I will spent the next three months reporting to management on the steps we are taking to reverse the decline and find new sources of revenue... even though we grew.
Analysts Estimate IBM (IBM) to Report a Decline in Earnings: What to Look Out for --

Simple. GBS has been taking all the GTS new deals. It has been an ugly fight and GTS execs cannot do anything. That revenue will show as Cloud or Red Hat, and they will blame the new virus Kyndryl for the decline. Of course they will claim that this supports their decision to k–l off the ugly declining virus.
They've been saving money on water and electric bill with offices closed.
That might account for a blip upwards.
Earnings will be a disaster for IBM with it's competitors growing AGAIN!
How can they engineer the REV number?? The revenue number is all that counts for Wall Street going forward. AK stated too many times publicly that he is working on providing REV growth. There was absolutely no revenue growth in Q1. If you own the IBM stock sell it before the weekend, you can buy it back cheaper the following week after earnings call.
IBM will claim 1% earnings growth, but revenues will shrink 6%. To make the water quite muddy, IBM will announce several restructurings with charges so visibility will be obscure
they will engineer the number to make it look like some growth - but it wont be real growth
