Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What's happening T peeps?

It's been two months since I left and it feels like I was gone for years - that's how much better I'm feeling these days. The only thing I miss from that place are the people I worked with. That's it. I just wanted to come back once more to wish you all good luck and a better tomorrow - which will hopefully include a new employer (or at least a new CEO.)

I was with IT and left with the 2015 offer. If you can afford it, it's very nice having so much more time for yourself. And not being under the burden of being buried under emails every Monday morning. And those emails saying "Sorry for the short notice..." Plus the dribble issued at town halls that presumes with lots of training we'll all do so well, then followed by layoffs and the "necessary" re–orgs. My job was very good and challenging which I enjoyed. I was not going to leave T for several more years. As a Sr. Tech. Architect I had the pleasure or leading teams deploying vendor products as well as architecting system environments, managing SOX and user compliance, and more . I still enjoy talking with others I knew still working for T. But simply don't miss the threats and ambiguity about hanging on to a job. :D

They are hiring back quite a bit in C&E in Southeast area.

I wish T would consider downizing some of its legacy T techs since the workload just is't there to support the over abundance of technicians.

Thanks for the encouraging words. It is good to hear from someone on the "outside" who is doing well after leaving I am going to be gone soon, too.

I have not seen any of my coworkers in more than a year, so that part of the separation is already done. We were scattered across several locations, but I do miss seeing those that I was colocated with. That is the bad part about working from home; it gets lonely sometimes.
