Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Question for the masses

Is there anyone who feels as if their talents and productivity are being mismanaged? I’ve been feeling this way for quite some time but I’m not sure if it’s just me or if this actually happens to others. While I enjoy my work sometimes I wonder if my talents would better serve in other functions. Anyone else feel this way? And how can I express this to my manager without stepping on his toes?

OP, you are not alone. As far as your manager is concerned, just have a conversation during which you should express, both respectful and professionally, that you would like, with the manager’s support, to explore new opportunities within the organization where you could better align your passions, values, learnings, growth and development. Nothing personal and no talk of mismanagement. After all, no manager in the right mind would stand in the way of the employees’ development if they are being made to feel respected and consulted. Best of luck to you in your search.
