Hint: We didn’t stop hiring, we just stopped hiring in the US. You were laid off due to skill sets, you were laid off because you were too expensive.

Correct! Check LinkedIn people insights chart on XOM and you will see XOM has been hiring all last years in great numbers (including the layoff period) , but outside of US. Infosys was retained for a lot of projects. So I am sure smart ones can see what's coming and that the Houston Campus may not be able to fit all currently there. Bail if you want/can now rather than taking chances.

Yes OP, I was laid off because I was too expensive, so you should be very happy now. However, let me tell you that I found a much more meaningful job where I am much more happy now. Count a few more years and let's see what happens to your company. And who will have the last laugh.
Exxonmobil enters the 21st century. Other companies have been doing this for decades now. As typical, we are just late to the party.
