$11.1M Kingston v. IBM verdict sets the bar!

WOW this case looks like got $11.1M before punitive damages from a fed jury. We had no recent cases going to trial as all seemed to be settled. But this case exposed the possible awards in a trial that with punitive damages could be 10s of millions of dollars!
Why this case wasn't settled? I guess Kingston's lawyers asked 10s of millions and IBM refused. Now maybe IBM will get smart to settle before going to punitive damages trial and appealing. But big damage done as all other cases can see what kind of money this could bring. Makes the one month offer to sign an exit agreement in return for arbitration totally ridiculous in my view.
We need a few more actual trials with verdicts as IBM could be on the hook for many billions of dollars in those hundreds of cases around including the EEOC and the class action. Why settle for anything less than millions? ... good news, justice is being done and all the evidence exposed could possibly be useful to other cases. This is discretion lawsuit citing law against discrimination. Yes including race but also Kings has claimed age discrimination as maun cause as far as I could understand. Of course race retaliation is taking the headline. ..so much for the IBM's image 9f being politically correct. ..
