Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

They are cutting health benefits next

I heard that Exxon is going to be cutting g health benefits next and going with the cheapest dental, vision, medical, mental health and proactive health perks to try to save money. How low can they go, terrible how they plan to slash our benefits.

Our health insurance quality has been reduced quite a bit the past few years ago. It used to be great, but now it’s just good. I remember folks telling me about how on the Aetna PPO having a baby was just a $100 special deductible, and I remember seeing that as an example during annual enrollment. Then a few years ago they changed it to 10% coinsurance. We had a baby this year and I am out about $2000 and may hit my spouse’s out of pocket limit for the first time. Good thing I filled up the FSA.

Retirees have been living fat while we suffer. We are all in this together right?

For now. If shell continues on selling quality assets during a downturn, they wont have the revenue to support many benefits for its employees

Most xom employees would be shocked to know Shell has has better health benefits.

In XOM executive compensation reports, XOM brags that management has the same benefits as other employees. They may adjust a bit...like the recent elimination of 3 to 1 match...but I see no major changes except possibly reducing the formula for pension to be like CVX. But restore savings match or maybe even increase the match and introduce variable (bonus) pay for top third performers.

@usu+1as62Tbn No it's not the best neither is it "not that good", it appears you have not shopped for any of the coverage's in the open market these days.

What I heard is that some people will use their anonymity to say whatever they think will make people more afraid and unhappy, secure in the knowledge that some will believe them despite the lack of evidence.

If you are healthy, you don’t need health plans.

Does it surprise anyone? I mean, the health benefits are really not that good in the first place.
