Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

How many would accept this?

I think most folks would have accepted a layoff with a reasonable severance package in line with our competition. The new round of NSI layoffs will only add to the low morale.

I think this would be the preferable option and I'd be the first one to accept. How many of you would do the same thing?

Lee Raymond (CEO in 1999) when asked if Exxon would receive the same enhanced severance package as Mobil Corporation employees, stated in classic Lee Raymond style, "WE DO NOT PAY PEOPLE TO LEAVE THIS COMPANY".

Lee Raymond's statement to Exxon employees in 1999 is still true today.

They didn’t have a voluntary program because everyone RE or NRE would take it and they would have nothing but armatures left to man this sinking ship.

If they offer a 2/2, with or without a cash incentive, don’t be caught between me and the nearest exit. I’ll run right over your a–s getting out of this sewer.

I would take a 2/2 package today. Don’t even need the cash sweetener.

Or offer a voluntary resignation. My bar is so low that I would walk out with just 3 months pay, same as PIL. This gets rid of the people who don't want to be here, and spares the folks that want to stay.
