It pains me to see how many employees are currently profoundly unhappy here. All I can tell you is that if you are feeling this way, then it's time to start pursuing something better. I know it's not that simple but it is so much easier to look for work while you are still employed. Just devote an hour of your day to it, that's it. Even if nothing pans out, you'll have a much better picture of what's available.

I'll also add that the job market isn't as bad as I was lead to believe when I got laid off. It's certainly easier if you are willing to relocate, but even within Houston, I've heard of lots of my friends who got laid off finding stuff
