When will it really start hitting? Seems slow at first, then all of a sudden. Happened faster for Nortel etc.

i was at nortel for the 100 year anniversary. it grew into different areas. but alas they are no more – it was leadership and corruption.
cisco for decades – people changed the culture away from there best asset the people. they are now becoming a us political tool now.

I always look to GE or IBM as examples of managed decline, both are zombie companies focused on survival.

3com, ODS, and DEC all thought they were too embedded to go away too.
Cisco will never become Nortel. We are too embedded into the IT Infrastructure of North American/European governments. Huawei is prevented from selling in many countries.
Dell and Arista could chip away our marketshare but that would take decades.
