Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Non Core Gotta go

Big time rumors non–core businesses are actively being sold. If your not in the DA model you are not going to be around for long.

"I had heard that UOP has the most talented pool of people (with respect to their scientific acumen)".

The issue is that all the 'talent' has been shown the door and replace with high value centers in India. In fairness where a lot of technology happens to be needed at the moment.

Long gone are the days when clients would specifically demand someone from Des Plaines. The world has caught up and drove past.

@1jwt– although I am new so won’t know the details. But based on my understanding, this leadership doesn’t care about science or technology but only care about the business that comes out of it. An example is the power given to commercial teams, who live in their own world. how long could you keep selling without innovating or creating competitive barriers. I had heard that UOP has the most talented pool of people (with respect to their scientific acumen) within HON but not sure about the current situation.

They should have sold UOP long ago instead of ripping it apart and then complaining that it doesn't work anymore.
The after market is all they will focus on given the high margins. Same as in the past 8 years. They don't understand that we are losing even in this area due to no knowledge left.
Such a shameful waiste.

Bad business decisions via incompetent leadership has made the constant yard sale necessary to please the Wall Street gods, be weary if you see decline in capital funding for your site

Advanced Materials and UOP (to certain extend) lie in the non–core business category. Both the businesses are being decorated with life science and sustainability colors and may go once the price is right. A hypothesis on LT’s emphasis on software platforms.

Software and high tech royalty stream businesses = core. (Don't ask what these are, no clue.)
Everything else is for sale. People gotta go.

Is this supposed to be 'new' news? Its been that since Cote was manning the helm. No breaking news that DA still carries this legacy.
