Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Hiring people from competing companies

How many people from competing companies do you think are now looking for a job at Chevron? It is impossible to know, but I would love to know.

@8gae ohh you poor baby, they sure got under your little thin skin didn't they. You post the same whining cry of despair on every thread on the layoffs boards. It it that you expect to be laid off yourself soon? Wouldn't be surprised.

@1ngj, I totally agree. Chevron has many useless and questionable job titles like yours; Leading Performance Coordinator. One sure enough has to ask wtf role is that. But don’t feel bad about the job you’ve had the last ten years. I know others who have a longer tenure with job titles such as; Bread Maker, Basket Weaver, Supervisor of Supervisor, What do they do for the company, only HR knows.

Worthless. All around. Poor decision making, lack of strategy, foresight and ability to get things done. And way too many cooks in the kitchen and inefficiencies. Forgotten how to execute base business of making money and lost in its way to digital tools and rah rah cheerleading and politics. I’m out. Can’t work just collecting a paycheck and sitting in mind numbing meetings everyday. Found another oil and gas job, better culture fit and more $$ for those who are competent, driven, and want to do better and more. Deuces chevronites.

There will be some people wanting to come over from "competing companies" in the oil and gas industry, like Exxon who is even more of a dinosaur. But other (non-O&G) companies who are competing for inspired, innovative and high-performing talent are going to eat Chevron for lunch. We do not reward or inspire high performance, nor do we truly support diversity and wellbeing. New ideas and approaches are squashed through hierarchical "command and control". BUT, if you just want to do what you are told and "phone it in" for 30 years, Chevron is your kind of place! Come on over.

previous poster nailed it when they said, it wouldn’t be hard for someone to hire in from the outside considering how worthless most CVX employees are. employees that remain at CVX like that fat paycheck and/or couldn’t get a job elsewhere after being in a CVX non-job for years.
the question we should be asking ourselves is when will all the competent people start leaving cvx in droves?

Wouldnt be difficult for others to get a gig in chevron considering how useless we all are. Myself included.. Half stay at cvx because theyd struggle to get a job elsewhere
"yes ive been a leading performance coordinator for the past ten years" wtf role is that

They would be swimming upstream against a pan outflow of redundancies.
