Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

Why Was I Laid Off?

Based on the input provided here, we will know how layoffs are decided. Please post your layoff story here. Describe was it over staff in department? Not in the clique? Performance? Salary? Why were you selected! We’ll wait for at least 20 people to post to see the trends. Thanks for participating!

Btw for transparency, I am still employed yet my time at the company is closing as I will be accepting a job at a competitor in The Woodlands.

I like being laid off. I cannot stand working in any particular environment for more than 3 years. After two years I start looking and wait for my opportunity. However, I’ve gone as long as 10 years on jobs I really like. SWN is stale. Good luck to those who feel uneasy.

As a new soon to be new employee of SWN, I have never worked for a better company than Indigo. From the Top to the Bottom! Change stinks:/ I am hopeful about SWN..
There’s a season for everything in life. I get that not everyone is as enthusiastic about going to work as I am. The only real question I have for current and former employees is…..
Can I keep my Beard?😂😂

Sad that you at SWN post about honor to laid off employees and not our fallen military heroes. Says a lot about what ya’ll think is important.

I agree with last post. My teammates are the best! May we honor all those who have been laid off before us so that we can have this terrific company to ourselves. Happy Memorial Day to those laid off!!

Agree with last post. Not my first time out on the lake with the big boss and won’t be my last. Alum stick together. Glad he is such an inspiration for leadership and let go a lot of “no value added” people like what was our “geo” team. These “geo” guys are d-mber than the rocks they look at. Sshheeshh. Buh bye! Our future is bright thanks to the guy we know as “Bill” the greatest E&P CEO ever! Whose with me!!

Let’s keep the faith in our great leadership on this weekend of remembering great leaders. They’ve stuck with us through thick and thin. We have the best management team in the oil and gas business bar none. So while you’re barbecuing, choking down large bratwursts and chugging kool aid tomorrow, let’s please remember our management team and the gratitude we owe them. Thank you!

Same ol jokes same ol potty humor. It’s getting old. These envious former employees probably live in their parents basement and scream for meatloaf every night. Grow up you imbeciles. These posts regarding executives clogging toilets, playing favorites on who gets laid off - while it’s true, doesn’t help anyone’s morale around here. Let’s pledge to be positive going forward. Even if you were laid off. It’s the right thing to do.

I was laid off today. No severance. Maybe that means I was terminated or fired? Any thoughts or comments? May get a job at Enterprise rent a car sucking farts out of cloth seats. Big business - pays a good wage and bonus potential is decent. So long SWN friends. I’ll miss the conversations at the coffee bar discussing women’s and trans men equalities. Thanks.

Laid off this year. Guessing was I outperformed my supervisor. Saved the company a $hitcoin ton of money on drilling and he took the credit. Life is cruel!

How is it like the last post. I gave over 10 years and countless weekends and let go in 2019. Guess what a 2 year employee MBA millineal now has my job. Guess that college ring is worth something even though his boyfriend still has to tie his fancy shoes.

Bitter not bitter
