Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Be seen, Be heard, Get Ahead!

Guys, its time to get serious! PIP is here so its time to put your game faces on and power walk! XOM managers have advanced minds so they manage by seeing and hearing! They need to "see" you writing things down on a notepad! They need to "see" you type on a keyboard. And they also need to "hear" you talk on Skype, Zoom or the phone! Their high IQ brains process these actions as "productive work." Get to it!

The same people that PIP you are the ones who get to say if you succeeded. Life's too short, and there are other opportunities out there. If you have worked there, invested the max for 10 years, you probably don't need to invest another dime though you should just to be safe. Keep investing, and go where you are appreciated. Come on in, the water is fine.

This is getting personal and how word gets around.
Like many others during this pandemic period, I accidently exposed myself in a Zoom a couple of times during this horrific shutdown.
My zoom office and my relief station are straight in line.
It is not a colonial or mini-mansion.
It's a single-wide. OK.
And to the others - thanks for the feedback.

The power walking yam guy is my hero, +1 for next VP. That cynicism would do better than most of you sheep

I actually want to see this guy on campus. The caricature is just too much. He should wear a striped ‘where’s Waldo’ scarf for easy identification. He just needs to be careful on his repeated badge swipes through the turnstiles. Don’t get that scarf caught on any moving parts.

The dim person writing all these “power walk and look busy” posts must not work for EM. Otherwise they would know that at EM, you can pretend to work and look important only if you’re a hi-po. If you’re a regular person it’s normal to be busy - somebody must do the work - and you’re never important. You can’t fake it - either you’re a “made” man” (or woman) or you’re not.

It's not just badge swipes that go into the Talento database. It's key clicks, get the mouse out and go to town. If the boss doesn't hear that keyboard clicking and the mouse, you are in trouble. Better get online and search YouTube for video on how to write a python program in the cloud that will simulate key clicks. Just don't set the rate too high, and have if vary daily so the robots don't use AI to determine you gamed the system.

We don’t look at badge swipes. You are an id--t if you think we do. Just do your job.

I normally dont share ideas but at this point why not. I went to the campus on Saturday and Sunday so they can see my badge swipes. Was told by a reliable source in IT that managers look at badge swipes to measure productivity.

You are at the campus before 5am? Brilliant strategy! I'm barely driving there to send out emails and most importantly to swipe my badge so that managers can see I'm a productive go getter. I honestly didn't think anyone would beat me in. Well played!

OP is the type of EM employee that should've been fired from day 1

If you're at the campus, I beat you. I've already logged on, sent out emails copying my management so they can see that early time stamp, and now I'm brewing up some fresh coffee while fu----g around looking at this site.

Just woke up to be the first one at the office! Glad I saw this as a reminder of what I have to do today to be productive!
