Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I've started looking

I never considered myself to be a quitter but Honeyhell has changed me. Things haven't been the same for years, but I kept pushing through despite the abuse I suffered from my then-new manager thinking that things can't stay the same forever. I was right. Things have not stayed the same. They have worsened. And I'm done trying or waiting.

Looking externally is healthy for the mind to understand what is out there, recommend everyone one do it, doesn’t mean you take the first offer, look for the better options/environment they offer

Just scheduled my interview with a company in Texas. Full remote software development. I feel worthy for the first time in years.

Folks, I liked my good colleagues (who are honest and strive to push the boundary despite resistance) in Honeywell. But honestly, I left with a scar on my self-respect. It will take sometime to get over with that. I am not exaggerating but it’s good to feel respected due to your technical expertise (that you have invested to build over years) and there are some great companies where culture is completely opposite to HON. Those who are still here (since long) May not understand my point till they get exposed to a different and positive culture. Wish everyone good luck!

LOL! Dude is keeping a trophy case of people that have left the organization. That is some sick obsession stuff right there. Has the makings of the next Lifetime movie plot...

I left mainly because of day to day micro-management, back-stabbing and lack of trust that made me re-think about my technical expertise. Turned out that I was fine, the toxic culture was a problem.

I remember the name of everyone I have worked with. I have a collection of cubicle name tags in one of my two drawers in our open office plan cubes. Some of the folks retired, many left for better jobs or just different jobs. One sells lighting fixtures in Atlanta. Another moved to Seattle. Some of those people, maybe many, thought I was an arrogant ah—e, doesn’t matter. Three of those people will never come back to work. Several times I have been able to give those name placards back. Not enough times.
So don’t think you are nameless. That just isn’t true.

Raytheon is hiring. Unlike Honeywell they are supportive of remote work, if that matters to you

If there is an opportunity even w/ a pay loss, I am leaving in a heartbeat.

Why leave? Where else can you do almost nothing and get paid a below average wage?

Good call. I got out a year ago with the covid-19 layoff....I raised my hand, fast! Having seen what had become of the place in my final 5 years there, and what I have read here or heard from my former coworkers, it has gotten worse....a lot worse. I don't know how a first level manager can sleep at night. They are involved in something almost evil. How can people treat people that way? Yes, it is a business and your boss is your boss. But Honeywell has taken it to a ugly level.

Every day, in every way,
Honeywell becomes more and more of
what it was the day before . . .
