Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

CEMREC...

"It will get worse before it gets better" is what they said during the re-org. Half a year in....still not getting any better.

New managers and teams selected were not the best people for the roles. Seeing a serious lack of knowledge and capability to perform their new jobs. Massive loss of expertise in an effort to save money and go with rookie contractors. A complete lack of ability / planning, CEMREC employees and contractors do not know what their responsibilities are. Everyone in the org is stressed and confused and the company is not fully back in the office yet.

It will only get worse when people do go back only to find out that CEMREC totally dropped the ball. They had over a year to figure out what the return to office will be!!

Why are MB's direct reports so busy sucking up to her in the CEMREC status meetings? Knowing that what they are saying is so untrue. Maybe it is because they know that she sucks at her job, while they try to save their posteriors in the process!

"It will get worst before it will get really worst because MB does not now how to do her job and she has direct reports that have no body parts to tell her because they want their jobs"

MB was basically run out of Upstream because nobody liked her.

In addition to the people's lack of knowledge, lack of management skills and inability to manage their way out of a paper bag, but the deal breaker is the extreme toxic environment. MB and her direct reports do not seem to know how to address this situation.

You got that right! HR will be pivotal in ensuring that corporate discrimination practices are violently implemented. Your papers please!

When you put two piece of cr-p together, you still get cr-p. What a terrible group to be in.

HR is just the gesttapo making sure the trains run on time. Work will set you free.

CEMREC is just another example (like HR) of a peripheral organization elevated to importance because they jumped on the D&I bandwagon and tout their "successes". Finding/producing oil and gas is becoming a secondary importance to Chevron, and these are all self-inflicted wounds. If outside influences (like what just happened to ExxonMobil) pounce on a teetering Chevron, it won't make it to even 2030.

CEMREC is a necessary evil and has been a talent dumping ground for years, sort of like a global gas was. It is a cost center.

CEMREC has the an opportunity of a lifetime to bring exciting space to our offices. As a tenant of 1500 from an upstream BU I am really hoping that I do not return to the same uninspiring offices. @OP+1b3Jzg4D are you from CEMREC is there a workplace plan?
