Companies had til May 31 to identify and notify. Notifications go out May 31. You should be notified either way about your eligibility.

Companies were allowed to keep taking premiums.

In most companies, if you are eligible and you paid one or more months it can be reimbursed or held to cover a post Sept payment or reimbursed later

There is also a process with the Dept of Labor with a 15 day turnaround to challenge if you feel you were wrongly denied.

HON is awful but they haven’t done anything uniquely bad in this regard.

Just call benefits today. Got a live person. She said letters to go out May 31st on eligibility , then once we get letter we have to call them to initiate the process.

I worked for another company but I finally have seen some progress on the COBRA subsidy.

My 18 months of COBRA coverage is scheduled to end on 12/31/2021.

The COBRA administrator my old company uses is
WageWorks / HealthEquity.

On Thursday, May 20th I noticed changes in my COBRA account details.

The American Rescue Plan Act was supposed to cover COBRA payments for six months, from April to September.

However, the COBRA administrator withdrew the April and May premiums from my checking account.

It appears they have now marked the April thru September premiums as paid via Federal Subsidy.

Instead of issuing me refunds for the April and May premiums I already paid, they have marked the October and November premiums as paid.

It also appears that I will only be on the hook for the December premium, which is the 18th month and last of the COBRA coverage for me.

Hope you see progress soon!

The limit is 18 months, although I read that one can apply for an extension beyond that. However, I tried to extend and was told they would not do it.

I called the HR line yesterday and they said that they "were still working on it". I asked that since I volunteered for the layoff, would I be eligible, and the rep had no clue.
