Shelly was in full spin mode during her all hands. It is embarrassing for her and it is an insult to our security sellers to have such a lack of sales leadership.
I am hearing help is on the way for Shelly. I sure hope it gets to her quickly before it is too late. Due to her sales and leadership incompetent, she is hiring a BDM reporting directly to her. GSSO has more “operations” people for its size than I have ever seen in my career at any organization.
I am sure that 1% increase in security bookings is probably stretching it. With the math that happens in bookings it is clear that security bookings was most likely a negative. Even if 1% is factual, is that something to be proud of when the security competition is growing their bookings in double digits.
It is also clear that security did not make plan / goal. This is what happens when you put someone in charge of sales that has never had a sales role or sales leadership role at any level.
Shelly can tout Small and Midsize all she wants but they will never move the needle. Her strategy of building out a small and midsize team is a BIG waste of investment. The small and midsize security business is a rounding error.
Is 1% increase in security bookings something to really be excited about.
