Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

things you should know about the crooked CEO

Ericsson today said it will apportion $1.23 billion in its third quarter 2019 earnings to cover an estimated fine of $1 billion, plus other related costs, related to a corruption investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Ericsson has been cooperating since 2013 with the SEC and since 2015 with the DOJ in regard to Ericsson's compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

The company says the investigation covers a period ending in the first quarter of 2017 and involves its activities in six countries: China, Djibouti, Indonesia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. Ericsson has not said what the corruption investigation pertains to, although some press reports have said it relates to bribery scandals dating back more than a decade.

The FCPA is a U.S. law consisting of both anti-bribery provisions and accounting transparency provisions. It requires that every company listed on a U.S. stock exchange must maintain accurate and detailed records and maintain an internal control system to ensure the accuracy of those records.

In a statement today, Ericsson said, “It is the company's assessment that the breaches are the result of several deficiencies, including a failure to react to red flags and inadequate internal controls, which enabled a limited number of employees to actively circumvent internal controls for illegitimate purposes.”

Apparently, some employees were fired and disciplinary measures were taken against other individuals.

Hans Vestberg served as CEO of Ericsson from 2010 through July 2016, when he was ousted from the company following poor financial results. He would have led the company during the period when the alleged corruption occurred and also during the time when Ericsson began cooperating with the SEC and DOJ. In January 2017, Ericsson named Borje Ekholm as president and CEO. Hans Vestberg has gone on to become CEO of Verizon.

If my extended fam knew what I make they'd lose their minds. They wouldnt see all the sacrifice, education, dedication, luck, and hard work it took. All they see is the dollars and many would think how unfair. Well I got a lot of education, stayed away from dr-gs, booze, crime, cigs & clubs, didn't get some girl pregnant in high school, made some good choices, got to know some good people who didn't drag me down, and got away from the bad environments. So that and some luck got me here. Seems fair to make what do with all it took to get here. Regards HV, none of us have to go through what a CEO or high leader does. Whens the last time you spoke in front of thousands of people or were quoted ad nauseum about everything you said or did. Thats worth a lot. I don't think its worth what they get but its worth a whole lot more than what I get. Way more.

So, they're facts... outrageous facts. What, exactly are we going to do about it?
If I'm anti union, I can get involved with certain groups within Verizon. I can get involved with politics and fight to make my state right to work, or abolish unions entirely.
If I'm pro union, I can join the union and oppose Verizon through that channel.
What are you proposing we do about Hans?
By reposting articles here, you're not Edward Snowden exposing the US government. Nobody without a VZ access badge cares.
Without a plan, you're just a whiny, jealous b!tch.
So, what do you propose we do?

The board is compliant for allowing this. It must be what they want.

This is disturbing if true , it does explain a lot of racial and climate virtue signaling . which I find to be an excuse for lack of ethical standing and for not having any business aptitude what so ever. Business has had no growth in past 5 years and now we have to deal with a crippled & compromised chief . God help us as the board is useless .

Salary Hans Vestberg · Annual: $22,200,000.00 · Monthly: $1,850,000.00 · Weekly: $426,923.08 · Daily: $85,384.62.

so I guess everyone is cool with $85,000 a day........keep fighting with union hourly employees. As for management keep reading the positive motivation books & keep that positivity up you WILL NEVER MAKE IT TO HIS LEVEL at least not here..... get mad for the right reasons
