Morale still at an all time low

I have been a faithful and dedicated employee where I had made sacrifices even to the extent of parting with my family for long periods of time for the sake of my job and the company. In the years that I have given to this company, never have I felt so betrayed or demotivated that at times I wonder why had I offered so much. It is unimaginable that in the last 5 years, the rot has gotten so terribly deep that employees have been looking at this job to merely pay the bills rather than a company that one would pin their career on. Consistent treats of layoffs, sites closing, stretched targets and ever demanding as well as demeaning superiors have made this place a living nightmare everytime I see the brand. Maybe this is just aero but with the same culture stretched across, it wouldn't be the only family within the company that smells of disgust.
MM did share his employee survey and I was amazed at how the score could be at 60 percent and expected it to be much lower or maybe it has been doctored to only reflect his brown tongued minions entries. With the promise of better actions and constant emphasis of recognising employees may already have come too late for all the plans to uplift morale only reflects a fake and empty intention. This company was a great place to work in and I trully feel that it will once again be when all those heads up where MM is at starts to pack their bags and leave for their names and faces sickens us folks down below.

Morale will be further reduced come summer when gs&i starts rolling up the closure site list. One by one, majority of the sites will be left in the rubble. The odd thing about this whole arrangement is that the locations chosen for closure are well performing. I wonder what our customers will start to think when they start realising why sites that they were so fond of has been moved to less savory locations.

Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work at this $hithole.

Morale can't be at an all time low now that all the worst performers, and presumably lowest morale employees, were let go over the past 18 months. Basic math.

Remember the DREADED PER survey they used to do....Maddog got rid of that.....well I used to run a site and took feedback very seriously and tried to run real action plans. They said that was anonymous too and I can tell you....HR would do everything in their power to pin point the real harsh comments. No wonder why there is no trust. HW doesn't want your feedback....shut up and give your left arm and be happy you have a job making senior leaders rich.

Of course that survey was doctored, lots of new people during their first week were incentivized to give “positive” score, noticed on LinkedIn indicates people are applying to all other jobs but Honeyhell, LOL!

The numbers are inflated because the survey was not anonymous. Most of those I work with realized the same and gave much higher marks than warranted. Especially about our immediate leadership.

Honeywell is moving on from the legacy avionics business. This is just the pain that accompanies indecision and lack of real leadership. They know that investing in aero is not a winning deal but they must bide time until the next thing arrives.. today they think electric aircraft is that next thing .. who knows.. meanwhile there will be a little innovation or money in the air transport area. Leave now you are wasting time in a stalled business.

The 60 percent number was inflated by the lack of anonymity .
I certainly inflated my numbers to the 3 range to avoid the label of hater.
When population fears reprisal it is impossible to get real sentiment. Classic union busting technique and honeywell is a master at that.

Trust me, the only thing that makes them stop is when they lose a big contract because of how deeply they cut into the domestic organization. Back when Boeing ran skillful programs (hint: 777) they took deep dives into prospective vendors' infrastructure, looking for risks. Back then (old) Honeywell was sharp and ready to work. Over the last 15 years almost no new business has been secured by Moneyhell among the aircraft OEMs. Moneyhell lost Boeing back on the 7X7 (aka 787) project through stupidity, failure to understand Avionics, and complete leadership ineptitude, none of which improved since. I was privileged to know what happened back then and there are great stories. Suffice it to say, the aviation world is beating a retreat from Moneyhell, and moving on to anyone BUT. Honeywell was a first-tier Avionics company and AlliedSignal was a second-tier engine manufacturer. As they say, water seeks its own level, and now Moneywell is a second-tier avionics and engine company.

And by they way, MM got that 60% number by RIFing the he-l out the company and threatening the rest. HR taught him how that's done.

OP: NO it just not at Aero I believe its all through Honeywell here at UOP it is sad affair what they have done to UOP when they bought it in 07. It use to be a family friendly place be at not much more as all they care about is their Metric #s, Tier meetings, Global Eagle and Goals. To me there is no care for lower band people anymore just upper half JUST SAD.

I have to say that for the time in my loooonggg stay here I feel downtrodden.

I am tired of CBMs and new directors (a lot) not knowing their jobs and come to me for solutions. I am not leaving my swim lane to help them get recognition and bonuses while I'm invisible.

Don't get me wrong, I do my job well and will continue to do so while I take a paycheck. But I will stay in the lane assigned to me and not work extra hours to help others make a name for themselves.

I also don't belive the Glint results. My ratings alone should have lowered the overall team's ratings. But I always assume data is manipulated.

Honeywell simply cannot say we are here to do anything besides make other people richer. There is no mission, no moral imperative, No reason to show up. They pleaded with managers to invent a reason.. nothing. There isn’t even fun.

Now if our ceo said he would ride a one way rocket to Mars… I would probably work overtime to see that.
Meanwhile the only overtime I put in is searching LinkedIn.

The unfortunate reality is that there are no companies left where you can pin a career. You can only afford to be loyal to you and yours. I stopped working insane hours a few years ago. The only reward was making the greedy fools at the top even richer. Work your 40, help out your colleagues here and there, and then go home. There aren't enough people anymore and they continue to leave in droves. It's time that those who made these awful business decisions suffer the consequences instead of everyone else.
