I was among a group in Engines that were going to be spun off to another company as part of this Allied-Signal GE merger. I was nearing age 55 and would be guaranteed 2 years at this other outfit.
Like getting traded to the Cleveland Indians, is the comment I made a the time.
The merger with GE didn't go through, thank God.
This just illustrates that we are all expendable when Corporate Chess is playing out.
Allied-Signal / Honeywell just went downhill from that point, for me anyway.
Not the same. I lived through that time and the employee morale issues were very site specific.
