Fresh out of college as MTS IV

What’s going on in GTS? A fresh out of college hired as MTS IV while many others need to have 10 years of experience for the same.
This fresh out of college was featured on LinkedIn post. This person is not of extraordinary ability or Ivy League
Who is going to investigate this ? Or we are all fools and management can do whatever they want to without any accountability

@2xtw+1b7H4aiQ I am talking about people having Master degrees in Technology with 10 years of experience. Most of them are still MTS IV
This 22 years old from unknown college joined Verizon for internship and was offered full time role. It was not offered an entry level. 10 + experience role was given.
This is really unfair on rest of the people who are actually working.

The Verizon hiring process currently is as follows. Resumes are filtered through a system, recruiters have the ability to choose what the system picks or can hand pick to the interview. All interviews are done via blue jeans with an HR representative. The questions are BS give me an example type questions , ultimately the hiring manager makes the decision, however HR recommends based on diversity in that team and always will select the minority as the first choice. The manager has to make a compelling argument or reason why the minority should not be selected.

Recruiter will reach back to that applicant with an offer.

The applicants that are not chosen receive NO callback, NO response, NO feedback.

Maybe the trick is to go back to school, graduate, and then come back :)

Let me guess... we should do this on company time from company phones too?

@1eep: They're talking about organizing a group that has the potential to become a whistleblower against verizon hiring practices, and you think the appropriate forum for that is a verizon property?
Why don't you go and find yourself a soft, little mouse to play with, Lennie?

I think you mean set up a bluejeans call to discuss. There’s no zoom at Verizon.

It all goes back to who you know and not what you know. Lots of reasons irrelevant to skills. Happens all the time since beginning of time. Probably parent/relative has influence.

There does need to be oversight so we are all assured the proper procedures are being followed. I've been concerned about this for some time. I've never known how to go forward though.
I assume you're going to set up a meeting of some sort to discuss your ideas on what to do. Something like a zoom call, maybe?
Please post the info here so anybody interested can attend.
I'm relieved that somebody stepped forward. We should all be alarmed this is going on.

uh, perhaps they had the skill set required for the position. Not all MTS IVs are the same skill set. It's a rather generic title.
