Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

How good is this company for newbies?

Every experience is a good experience, but I would never recommend anyone to get their first work experience here. It is better to look for an opportunity at a young, growing business. I look at company's job offers and I wonder how all this looks to someone who is just getting into this machine.

I hope you guys had a relaxing weekend! It's the start of a brand new week, and time to renew your efforts to let the union know your wishes. Everyone needs to make sure they contact the union in at least one way to let them know the advantages of working from home. Let them know that it benefits Verizon and you. Despite what they will tell you, it benefits the union as YOU ARE the union. The union exists by you and for you. What is good for you is good for the union. So, call, e-mail, snail mail... Any way is perfect. Whatever keeps you at home.

Dogshit. Expect to be paid considerably less than the do-nothing "lifers".

Verizon operates on a caste system. If you're lucky enough to get into the right caste you are golden. You will find the people who do the work or move the needle tend to make the least money on their teams.

They've done a lot to push real talent out the door.

@1wny- it sounds like you're just on the wrong crew. Talk to your supervisor. I'm sure you can get transferred to one that likes @$$play.

We looooooove newbies.
Just stock up on chapstick and grow out your beard (it'll be more realistic that way).
We'll give you a vest, hardhat, and all the tools you can handle.

Your answer is in the thread below. " Hard work doesn't pay here." Translation: " Why is it that the more I kiss Ar-e, the more I'd doesn't make a difference."

If you are union you don't really need to know how to do anything or work at all for that matter. So it is good for noobs.
