Everyone here is just larping

Remember when everyone here said UCS was going away? Today’s launch and announcement of 55,000 customers proved we are crushing it!!!!!!

If you are still doing UCS you are either in the center or on the list to hit the door at some point. Glorified PC dweebs are a dime a dozen.

To be honest another vendor could sell a better UCS. Upgrading a Cisco UCS is a pain in the neck.

And it ONLY makes Cisco license even worse than it already is.

Just sayin.

"When Cisco sells a virtual router, it comes installed on a Cisco UCS."

This is true, and quite frankly ridiculous. Virtual machines lend themselves to a myriad of CPUs and platforms, and Cisco ties UCS to the product specs.

When Cisco sells a virtual router, it comes installed on a Cisco UCS.

That's the only reason they sold 55k.

It means they only sold 55k Virtual routers.

AWS instantiates millions.
Cisco only sells thousands.

Sorry this is pathetic.

A competitor of Cisco is selling hundreds of thousands.

How is 55,000 crushing it?

I'd say that sounds like Cisco is way down in the corner, on the magic Gartner chart.

I hope you were joking.

I'm not one of those upset people. I just thought your comment was funny.

Also how many UCS boxes were bundled with another product? Cisco is the leader of bundling

You are Drowning in kool aid.

Take it from some one who used to have a large part in scale guides.

The numbers only mean what they claim under specific conditions.

That’s 55,000 customers since 2009
Which is 4782 averaged per year

And that is assumed to believe these are unique customers all buying one or more UCS boxes, which may or (most likely) may not be accurate.

Sure at the height of the virtual compute/virtual machine era (2010-14) they sold a lot of UCS boxes.

The arrogance (and wishful thinking) of Cisco marketing to think that using the term “hybrid cloud” really makes people believe Cisco has a cloud strategy. I read that announcement and just thought…”about time they replaced the UCS 5108 chassis.”

LOL @ “crushing it”. That announcement was not a needle mover.

I feel bad for DC TSA’s.
