A Hypothetical.
Assume you're a mainframer, greybeard.
You have a choice to be either kyndryl or IBM.
Which way to go and why?

If I was old enough to still have a pension and was thinking of retiring in a few years I would go with kyndryl. Begin collecting my pension while doing the same type of job I have done with IBM for years.
I knew a number of people who did the same thing back in the 90s when IBM sold Federal systems division to Loral. One day they were working for IBM, the next they were collecting their pension and working for Loral at the same salary they had with IBM.
Neither one… you are better off somewhere else… there are plenty of IBM mainframe customers out there who are looking for good mainframers. Time to update your resume and start looking…
