IBM is bloated, cut all the fat down to 50,000 employees.
If IBM is going to do anything out of the ordinary (unexpected by the street), I would expect it to be announced at the next earnings call. IBM has a history of combining unexpected announcements around earnings calls as it gives management a little more flexibility as to clean up the dirty laundry with current earnings in addition to the pre-announced restructuring charges. We’ll see in a week
2Q21 results come out next Monday - 19th. Let's see if there is any significant movement after that date.

Layoffs are coming across the board, IBM has to bring down the number of employees to no more than 200K. 90K go to Kyndryl, the rest will get laid off until the employee target number is reached. And 200K may still be too high.
