Why wait? You can improve this company right now. All you have to do, is walk out the door and never come back.
I got riffed.....got 12 months pay and found a job before I actually had to turn in my badge. So financially I am well off.
OP, fully understand you, it was my strategy too. But the money didn't make me happy. I thought it would, but no, it didn't. I miss the people I worked with and the travel. Money isn't everything, so I learned.

Layoffs?! This place can’t even get people to apply to the jobs, hiring bo-m in the industry since start of Q2, people are quitting and not looking back!!!
@zgi+1bLS8Ae9 -- It's been capped at 26 weeks for over ten years; at Engines anyway. What evidence can you show that it is going away or will be diminished?
Original poster, if you no longer like HW, I would be inspired if you just leave and not wish a layoff to thousands of people still want to work to support their families
People are waiting to be riffed and counting on the severance. I can tell you if that is your situation I would find another job quickly as the severance package will be going away and you may miss out. They changed it already by capping it at 26 weeks, next step is eliminating it. This is not mandatory for the company to provide and with the man IN charge now he is all about eliminating costs.
Maybe you should quit instead of wishing layoffs on people who need this job?
