Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

An exodus of talent

I’ve noticed a few people have left since January. They all showed talent and I was sorry to see them leave. Not sure if it’s a trend, but it seems that talented individuals remain only a short time before they start looking for better opportunities. Not sure if it’s the case in every BU but in mine we’ve lost at least 3 with no backfilling.

I don't know who Christin Campbell is, but I did look up her bio. Big deal. MBA from a mediocre TX college. Other than this, if she's the bar that's been set, it would explain so much.
None of the women that I worked with knew much of anything other than gossip, long lunch breaks and walking around to other departments (mostly to kiss up to HR which I cannot understand why.)
So, this exodus of talent will serve them well. It will leave behind the former cashiers and baristas so the mediocre rise to the top of the company. Happens all the time.

No one comes remotely close to the lacking ethics or professionalism of the likes of the perpetually single Christin Campbell. Avoid this troll like the plague.

L3H is not embracing SAP at all. Not sure what division or location you are at, but when I worked for them, it was 1970's software everywhere. Even the managers and directors who had twenty years with the company still could not complete basic tasks on these outdated platforms, so there is not any "investment" in technology.

L3H sees employees as a cost, not a resource. They want experienced people to leave, because those are the most expensive people. With enough SAP software, perhaps they expect the same task can be performed with less experienced, less expensive people.

I left when it became clear the executives did not value the new customers and profitable work I was bringing in. Dana Mehnert thinks people like me are paid too much compared to his superstars in Rochester. If he had spared a thought on people like me at all, it was just that he was happy to see us go.

Well, if you want to call me an 'old goat' ... that's fine. I took my years of experience, education and talent elsewhere.
L3H will regret the huge brain drain that they are allowing and causing.

"Of course the company can't wait for the old goats to leave..."

Surprising since an old ho--y goat is on top of the pile!

Seems like this place does fairly well hiring new grads and junior staff but not so good at keeping them for more than a year or so. I cant tell if it just L3Harris or if this is how the world works now. Might not be so bad if we didn't have to put them in for security clearances and then teach them our outdated obsolete antiquated defense stuff.

Of course the company can't wait for the old goats to leave.

I actually thought that a temp that was hired into customer service was joking when she told us she came from Walmart. Nope.
All of a sudden, I felt a need to rethink my career. Working alongside people who came from the fast food and retail sector wasn't where I wanted to be.

I left early this year and I'm glad I did. My division was full of mediocre supervisors that attended meetings all day and the morale was so bad that people stopped caring.

The company is definitely going down if I were any of you I'd be looking elsewhere.

My new co-worker here in Greenville just shared with me her prior job was at the Love's Truck Stop on I-30. I am so done with this place on so many levels.

They are not hiring college grads. They are hiring cashiers, waitresses and delivery drivers.

They have been getting rid of all old employees and replace with college grads to pay them less for years!!!!

I stayed for a year and saw enough incompetence among supervisors and directors to last me a lifetime. Human Resources played petty games and did nothing but organize (and they didn't even do this well) the so-called employee appreciation days. We were "appreciated" with one lousy Chick-Fil-A sandwich and a bag of chips.
Nothing at all for a holiday gift. No recognition whatsoever. Pay was decent, but the benefits got so badly reduced that the plans on Obamacare look better.
No reason for me to stay. It was great sending my resignation to my supervisor; I'm sure that I was replaced by someone who used to stand behind a cash register or brew coffee all day.
I could care less about this place anymore. I've heard it's worse than ever right now at L3H.
