I've tried to let go of my animosity towards T but I simply can't. I was laid off a few months ago and there is still a (not so small) part of me that hates that place. Just thinking of all the time I've spent working there, giving it my 110 percent every single day and for what? To be discarded like yesterday's trash. I hate that T can still affect me even after I'm gone. I can't wait for the day when I can look back and simply not care. Hopefully, it arrives soon.

I’m at a point where I would love to be laid off, but it’s never gonna happen, unfortunately! I’m tired of this company and all the cr-p and drama that goes with it starting with incompetence in management! My Supervisor is really a clueless mo--n and has zero business being in charge of other people. Sad, but true!
Got the boot with 20 plus years back in 2020. Took some time and effort, but I landed a job with a company that treats employees with respect. It is so refreshing to actually be with a company that values it’s people. I lump summed my pension and rolled it to an IRA along with the 401k. I am glad to be off the AT&T musical chair game of annual FMPs. Was I angry at the time? Yes. Just hang on. Spend your energy on doing productive activities and appreciate you family. Letting go of your anger is the first step towards personal happiness. What happened is not your fault, but how you handle it belongs to you. Good luck to you!
You're in Stage-II of SARAH - Shock, Anger, Rejection, Acceptance, Help. However, mitigate that by not giving T the power. Until you do, you will not be happy. Everyone on this board and everywhere else has had major problems of some kind in their lives. Think of what was said in one of those Rocky movies: "It ain't about how hard you can hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." Are you going to be a Rocky. Come on; get back into the fight.
My girlfriend left me. Discarded list trash.
You need tie dye in your life.
Get a PTSD support dog to bring on you’re installs. Just a suggestion.
Let the hate flow through you.
I don't want to read your whiney cr-p here but I had to.
You may have a form of PTSD. You may benefit from counseling. You are letting AT&T live rent free in your head. Through help you can let this place go and move on to a better mental health space. Don’t let this poison your next job.
I left for a much better job and I still feel that way. T traumatized me to a point where I cant be as effective in my other jobs.
Im in a much better environment, but Im still scared that my manager may give me cr-p for stepping away for 5 minutes. Im scared of logging in 10 minutes late even after spending the whole night working. Im also scared to speak up because I was conditioned to stfu at T. I think it will get better eventually.
You were laid off due to business reasons. Stop acting like a little b--ch.
I don't care but I come here in hope anybody thinking of working in the cesspool runs the other way far far far far far far away. that is only reason I come so people don't waste their treasure and time on cesspool company.
The problem is that you have no power. Find your power and you will feel better. Cancel any ATT services, write congress, comment on message boards about the company. Blast them on glassdoor. Feeling powerless in the face of being exploited is the worst. They took advantage of you and you have a right to be angry.
Think of all the pay and other benefits while you were working there.
The C suite finds OP numerous.
They don’t care.
Oh, and man up.
I can understand feeling that way but posing it on a Layoff board?
Rode the train and left after 43 years. Hated my last 10-15 years....but retired on my terms. Don’t miss the clueless management at all. What a dump....use to be a great company. Would recommend no one going there.
I took the way AT&T treated me and used it. I did 37 plus years and left. I finished my astrophysics degree and found a new job in the space industry. AT&T was a good place to work my first 25 years but mergers and bad decisions by upper management destroyed a once proud company. My fist 25 years they paid to educate you and take care of medical needs without huge deductibles. The AT&T I retired from was a complete opposite of the company I started with. The only advice I can offer is use any resource they give to you and move your career in way that can make you happy. Best of Luck to all.
Dude, you need to let it go. Yeah, the way T treats employees with nothing but contempt and derision is frustrating, but then again a company often takes the personality of its CEO, and Stink is a reprehensible, disgusting, arrogant, conceited doosh.
I was laid off in late 2020 for the sin of being part of a group dedicated to working on DIRECTV, and like the OP I was upset about it. But after a few months I found a new gig and am much happier.
I no longer despise T. But I will never have anything but scorn and bad feelings toward the man who not only threw my life in upheaval but is also ruining a company for which I did sacrifice a lot.
Hate the Stink. But feel nothing toward the company.
I’ve lost my passion to do a great job and no longer care about anything concerning the customers. If T doesn’t care about its own employees, how can we care about its customer base! The cr-p rolls downhill and the customer is the one to ultimately suffer!
T will soon realize the error of its ways!
It doesn't take a layoff to make you hate ATT. I'm still on payroll and I hate the place with a passion. After practically begging for a layoff for two years, I've given up and will be leaving this fall voluntarily. While I'll do my best to try and forget this ever happened to me, you know I'll never be completely successful, so I can't imagine I'll ever stop hating it.
It is disgusting what Ratty and Stinky got away with and yes, traumatic to anyone that cared about their work.
There is a special place in h3ll for those two to burn...
Never look back. You got out of a dumpster fire, be thankful, go live your life.
