Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

New BOD member?

Word on the street is new additions to the board are being vetted and one that guy from Lakewood Baptist church. I find this news shocking and disturbing and hope you do as well.

He is just one of several candidates and I don’t see him getting the offer, but let’s see.

He may be a good fit to diversify the board, but I hope the board ensures he has sufficient time to serve as he seems quite busy with his day job plus books etc.

Ge-z, a bunch of id--ts must work at Chevron and deserve layoff. FYI, there is NO Lakewood Baptist Church with Joel Osteen as pastor! Anyway, if Joel Osteen was a board member then Chevron would be better off!

Perfect. Add him to the current list of clowns I mean characters. Will Fit right in….when it comes to snake oil, smokescreens and mirrors, and the magic tricks execs and BOD are used to pulling off. And get paid lots of $$$$ doing it. One to really look after the best interest of the people and shareholders while lining their pocket book.

Most of our employees and shareholders are Christian, so it works. It’s only one bord member.

WTF does Joel Osteen know about the oil and gas business? Oh yeah, I remember now…. Joel is full of gas and spews it out big time. Maybe he will have some usefulness on the Chevron BOD.

Wow - We would really consider adding freaks like this to our board?. Religion has become a crutch for the mentally unstable who are just enrich snake oil salesman that help them deal with their lack of enjoyment in life.

I don’t know him personally but obviously one of the more astute businesspeople in Texas and someone who knows how to reach hearts and minds (and pocketbooks). I can think of a lot of worse candidates.

I doubt he’d approve of certain employee networks so will they be going away as part of his joining?

Will he be praying climate away?

I hear Chevron is testing out passing the offering plate around for some "blessings" in the campus.
