"It's all good" regarding return to office

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2021-07-14/bofa-ceo-moynihan-on-return-to-office-it-s-all-good-video

It's all good. I finally got my first interview for a flexible company (CITI). Let the mass exodus at BofA commence!

When are you WFH people going to understand ? Mandating everyone back to the office is to force you to work in a hub location or quit. It's really that simple. Having you quit is their preference. And God-forbid, do not relocate to a hub location to 'save your job' . You're just delaying the inevitable, and will come out on the losing end. Don't worry about the Bank 'losing all their talent', they'll always survive, no matter how many id--ts are running the show.

Full credit to Brian for having the decency to at least look very uncomfortable when rambling on and on to avoid answering the question:) ... when he certainly knows the answer is yes.

Wow. This guy was telling the truth. Look at the first comment. It's exactly what the CEO said in this interview in the last 15 seconds. We seem to have some in the know people on this forum. That's... Scary.

People want work/life balance. We’ve always wanted it, but now we see how seamless the transition to working from home has been and it doesn’t make any sense to work from the office 5x a week. It’s a sham and now the curtains have been peeled back and we’re all aware. The ill will that they’re going to cultivate because of dragging us back to the office is going to be palpable. I will now know that while sitting in rush hr traffic, I can be enjoying my time at home, and the reason I’m not is just because of bureaucratic bull with nothing backing it up.

I’m telling you- they’re going to start to feel it sooner than later. The employees need to make ourselves heard. And if we’re not, we leave. Not only will they lose talent they won’t be able to recruit talent either. Other companies are totally baffled as to why a company like BOA would require full time office. In 2021.

Management needs to feel important. Having a bunch of people present in the office fulfills the desire their insecure brains need. They are letting their emotions and stubbornness make decisions. They get constant questions in town-halls about WFH, tons of people on surveys have mentioned their desire to WFH, and yet they still stick to their own non-informed belief that WFH is bad.

This is similar to to the open-floor concept. Who would possibly want a cubicle that is their own personal space, with some privacy and familiarity when they could have a locker, and sit at a giant table next to a bunch of other people unwillingly in the same situation.

People will stay at the job because change is stressful and hard. People will continue to put up with the misinformed and ignorant whims of management because it is the easy choice.

We can hope that one day that the management will come to their senses and actually give the employees what is good for their well-being, and not put the company and profits ahead of the wellness of the workforce. This most likely won't happen with the current management but there is always hope...
