Now our management is trying to tell us if you call off on a 8 hour shift to be protected you have to use 16 hours of PPTO.

They make the rules...and they can change them whenever they want!
If you call out on a “key date” it doesn’t matter how much PPTO you have you are still getting a point.
If event day. You key in 8 hours ppto. And instead of 2 points you will only get 1 point.
To look up any policies just go to ME.
Or call the Ethics line. Keep in mind if you Google Walmart Ethics the first thing that pops up is the 800 number for Ethics. If they can not assist you they will transfer you to the Associate line.
At the Associate line they can either guide you to the page in question or as many will do since it is the fastest way for them. They will just send you link it will show up in ME.
Why does management not advise us of the changes? I am referring to this information as well as the so called dress code policy change. Can someone please explain to me why management is not telling us? Most people have no clue on how to navigate the wire. There is zero training.
To all the people who say, "look it up on the wire." Do you have any idea how incredibly difficult it is to look something up on the wire? Half the stuff I try to look up isn't available from my home computer.
Plus the wire has the worst search engine ever created in the history of search engines. I tried for an hour to find how many hours you had to work in order to keep my full time status (occasionally I take a day or two off as an unpaid day - we can do that in our club) and I wanted to make sure I didn't take so many that I jeopardized my full time standing. No matter what I searched, I couldn't find the policy.
On top of the poorly built search engine, lots of times you read that you have to be on the clock to read something. There is no time at work to use the computer. Can't use it when you're clocked out, like lunch or after work, and that leaves two fifteen minute breaks (one break for us, because we can't get the work done without giving up our last break or face the wrath our manager who says, "I can and will coach you if you don't get your work done.) That's barely enough time to slam down a water, use the restroom and get back to work.
It's not that easy to look up a policy.
DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE 16 HOURS TO COVER KEY DATE !!! P R O T E C T E D MEANS JUST THAT, PROTECTED !
If you are scheduled, use the web form to miss work, report the absence and submit PPTO for that absence isn’t the absence supposed to be automatically approved? Associates have been getting points because they didn’t get the absence approved by a manager first.
If you call off on a key day
you have to take 16 hours ppto. If you only take 8 hours you will still receive 1 point.
Why do people spread this bs rumors instead of looking up the policies on the wire?
Every time I see something like this pop up, I understand why there are warnings plastic bags.
Double point days🤣 How ridiculous and childish is that.
This is for calling in on double point days.
lie lies lies.... look up ppto on one wamart .com pto ppto can be used for as little as 15 minute increments....
