Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Another One via LinkedIn

“ The sun has set for the last time on my 23 year incredible voyage with ExxonMobil

The amazing and diverse experiences gained will forever shape my professional career.

The numerous states and countries the family called home only added to the pleasure for all.

The countless professional and scores of deep personal friendships developed will be most cherished.

Excited for the yet to be determined next port of call on the horizon where I can best leverage these extensive global experiences…”

There has to be some clause in the “get the f— out” package that states you must write a business unit wide email or web post saying how great your job at Exxon was. I’ve seen too many of these and most are shortly followed by an email to a select group saying what really happened.

I saw a great reply to one of these: "Does anyone still work at exxonmobil?" Cracked me up.

It looks like 40 year olds are the new 50 year olds. I guess they can avoid the appearance of getting rid of old people by slightly moving back the window. I don’t see how this company survives long term with the brain drain they implemented in the name of cost savings.

Excessively cheesy and smarmy. Words and phrases you would expect to see in a middle school homework essay.

Saw this on LinkedIn. The comments on LinkedIn to this post are equally cringe worthy.

This post was really weird. Saw it on my LinkedIn feed last night. Dude obviously got laid off. “Yet to be determined next steps” shocker

Maybe they just actually liked working here?! Not everyone posts on here!

If you post on linkedin then its out there in the world. Not everyone with a Linkedin account who gets laid off feels the need to post something like this. Especially smh at the overly soapy posts.

@1llr+1bRshB74 Polish it first. “I got weighed and was determined unworthy to be part of the corporation”. Now, that is LinkedIn worthy!
