I didn’t get the award, personally, I couldn’t careless. I do my job, get paid, and go home. For those who want to work extra hours, sucking up to managers, all for a chance at a extra few bucks, more power to you.
What I do have issue is executives and HR bragging about how great and timely the connection award is. It is BS, and most people know it. Majority of people won’t ever get the extra payout, and there is zero transparency. Stop acting like a f$&@ing cult.
Yes. I received one each Quarter in 2021. Decent financial bonus but doesn't make up for the horrendous hours I was working.
So that explains why these have been kept a secret (it's because it's favoritism just as always).
L4+ make the decisions for their group. I know of one(RKR) who only considered her direct reports who did not get merit increases bc of TSR changes. I know of 2 others who were upset when their favorite people were not offered a retention bonus. so they gave them connection awards instead. they are being misused by leadership and its causing a lot of frustration for L3's and below. if sr leadership really cared they would survey people about the award(Both Directv and At&t) to see how employees feel and if there is the perception the awards are being awarded unfairly. or they can probably just check to see if all of the connect award $$ went to people who didn't get increase (we all know most didn't deserve an increase anyways)
"I won...you keep trying. "
Yet here you are... trolling and spewing negativity.
Apparently all that stuff hasn't made you happy. Enjoy the woods!
I hear Stank gave himself one!
Zero in management. No way I'd allow myself to be treated like that. YMMV.
36 years as a repair tech.
I couldn't afford the pay cut-and yes I was offered 3 promotions.
I have zero debt. 2 2018 vehicles.
A house in the woods (paid cash last year for it) and a cabin on 80 acres.
2 boats. Tractors, ATVs, go out to eat 4-5 nights a week, and will retire this year at 54.
I won...you keep trying.
"My boss works at least that much and I make far more $$$.
I often am on double time by Tuesday.
So yes, enjoy your title.
And your jealousy."
I'm not your boss... ;^)
I spent 12 years in the bargaining unit, BTDT. How much time have you spent in management?
Lack of life?
hahahahaha.

I will... enjoy your lack of a life.
500+ hours of OT is 60+ hours a week at work, every week + commuting time. Do you leave pictures of yourself at home so your wife and kids will let you back in every night?
Pro tip... Don't raise your overall lifestyle based on OT. More than once, I've seen techs in tears when the gravy train suddenly stopped and they couldn't pay the bills.
We've awarded two rounds, for Q1 & Q2 so far in my org. Typically $2-4K/ea. for L1.
Our org is spending a lot of time and energy in "performance measurements", and other stuff to prove value on a weekly basis, supposedly so connection awards can be justified. There's so much activity spent doing this kind of stuff now that we get less real work done. I'm sure that people on our team have received connection awards. I personally have not and don't expect to. I don't put a lot of energy into self congratulations. I'd rather focus on solving real problems instead.
It's ironic, if you get a Service Excellence award, your name gets plastered in tiny fonts on townhall PPTs and emails, widely shared with everyone. Oh yea, you also get a $100 gift card for going the extra mile.
Connection award, supposedly for high achievers and with much greater financial reward, gets hidden under a rock like a dirty secret. Call me skeptical, but something stinks.
Sounds like they want to keep the awards private. No one will know if someone on their team got one. No one will know if anyone got one, pretty clever HR. Doubt they give out any of these connection awards.
“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
Must be some state secret and needs to know only. I guess you can throw the timeliness claim out the window, no one has a clue. Just another corporate strategy to lower morale, someone needs to come up with an award category.
I've been told it will be not announced to the team when an individual is given the award. That probably means no one in my team/org has received the award.
No.
But I have gotten 500+ hrs of OT pay this year to the tune of $40,000 plus per diem.
For doing little.
No collaboration.
No buzz words.
No cheerleading sessions.
Seems I did connect, to payroll.
Enjoy your title.
Nothing here in Cleveland.
connection award, is that what replaced the once a year appraisal where the management all had a frantic november and december trying to do some accomplishment to list on their yearly appraisal?
and now that has been changed to quarterly, so now they have to come up with an accomplishment every quarter...
no wonder they don't like it.....
According to Stankey, Santone and HR are winning in a big way. HR is not your friend, they only represent the company and its best interests.
I don’t think anyone has. Agree this has been de-motivational. Used to get ica/kca every year. So much for rewarding achievements as they happen. Feels like a pay cut coupled with the week lost in vacation. HR is failing in a big way.
Not aware of anyone on my team that has.
I can't connect to anything as my work phone is on the T Network and I spend more time waving it in the air trying to find a signal. Mostly I give up and poach off my customer's cable internet.
so glad I left - I am not working as many hours as I did at the cesspool att and yet I am making more money in bonus and awards.
att is so full of shxt - they wouldn't recognize value work if it hit them in the face.
Yes
nope. and used to get the ICA. work in group that supports other teams in VP org. expect to never see an award because focus of org is not us. thank you, Stankey, for finding yet another way to demotivate the workforce.
yes - 3k
No. If it’s given out it’ll go to the same people who always get recognized. Unless you are friends with “leaders” you even by see that money ever. At least the ICA was slightly more merit based.
Whats that?
Nothing here in Atlanta.
