Anyone in a test club for the shop and ship? Does home office really expect backroom associates to have time to ship all this extra stuff out when we barely have time to unload all the trucks and everything else we do? We don’t have time for claims as it is !!! Maybe they will let claims be it’s own department again!!! The claims clerk we had left the company and we are struggling to even get that area done without management getting on our cases about how bad it looks .

This sounds like SFC (Ship From Club). This has been at our club since late last year. At our club, it's part of CPU. We have designed people in both sections; however, SFC will help CPU if there's a call out etc.
We pick and pack 1000 items per day. Then we put them on a pallet, then load them onto the fed ex truck. Rinse, wash and repeat. I personally love it because I'm left alone and I don't have to deal with members that often.
What's one more task? I mean, they keep slowly adding food to your plate...just eat it up and always be full!
We were told about this a year ago that they are testing in about 3 clubs. One in Texas. One Cali. Not sure the other one. Back room will be involved it. But they will bring others on board to do. It will not be part of the personal shopper program. Conveyer belt, paper hung from ceiling to put in the boxes. Mailing labels, two shifts. Just like we have now. Fill a pallet. Gets loaded on Fedex, etc. we pick, box, and label for shipping from our club.
I'm sure the clubs that have "ship from club" will be the ones doing "scan and ship". The member will get an option if they want to ship or take it with them. SFC will most likely pick the order and package it just like our online orders. Nothing will change except SFC will probably get more orders.
Maybe if the backroom associates stop hiding behind locked doors more can get done.
We had this in our club & it had its own tile. There was actually a associate who did it Monday-Friday. They did away with the position so she had to change jobs. We don’t do it any more.
Making it easier for the scammers. Instead of using scam and go, we will just ship it to your door so you don't even have to get out of bed and get a job
It’s called Scan and Ship and my guess is they will either create a new position or roll it to club pick up roll. Backroom associates can’t leave the dock to go pick orders.
They are only testing this in like 3 clubs. I read about this in LinkedIn.
What is “shop and ship?” I am a backroom associate and have not heard anything about this.
