The woes never seem to end at Gorgon, our worst project ever. Today the American managers in charge in Perth tried to put a positive spin on the CO2 injection catastrophe but Australians, who built the project, are not amused.

Good one! There was a former employee (retired 2019) whose name is Gordon and he had a negative reaction every time someone spelt his name Gorgon, in an email, sometimes in a ppt. He always corrected the "mistake" either in an email, in a meeting, one way or another. A former ETC planning manager made this "mistake" quite often!
“Gorgon” is a word that will go down in our lexicon long into the future. The word may even make it into the Urban dictionary someday or maybe Webster’s. Example: “Poor Joe, he really messed up bad this time. He Gorgoned that project so badly that he was fired on the spot today.”
I don’t know how JJ hasn’t been drawn and quartered over Gorgon. There’s no accountability at this company.
What was the spin? Gorgon had reduced more emissions than any airline in 2020?
These managers really do know how to dress a pig
Isn’t the downstream guy handling operations?
What an embarrassment for our company and industry.
MH has limited ops experience and limited foreign experience. Like many, he was offered a lucrative overseas job as a sunset role to top up his retirement.
Gorgon will be an on-going burden for CVX.
the amount we have invested in Gorgon just balloons out of proportion
To be fair, I don’t think any issues at Gorgon are MH’s fault. He’s the clean-up guy.
