I've noticed that with the majority of other companies, people move on once they leave. Whether they were laid off or walked away, they never look back. Not with Intel. Years on, people still hold on to the hate. You mention Intel to them, and they go on a tirade about it - like it was yesterday they left. It's disturbing how many negative feelings this place is capable of invoking years on.

You should check out the post on roughly the same day about how "IBM stays with you". While I think the responders are genuine posts, is it possible that the original poster was driving up wrb traffic to this site.
People in my team were constantly scolded publicly when I was working in Intel by different big people outside my group, even when there was no reason. Saying "I disagree" was sacrilegious and my manager was scared to defend us.
Scolding was considered showing leadership and scolding was proof that the job got done because of their leadership and not because I did it.
I hate to admit this as a grown man but I cried myself to sleep sometimes. I learnt to meditate and switch off when people scolded me or others publicly; I imagined my kids singing or hugging me. This gave me some solace.
I tolerated this because I was settled in Folsom and there are no other tech companies here. Then I got laid off in 2016 and found a job outside Folsom. Intel said I can never join again, but who knows? I may end up seeking a job in Intel again because Im a middle-class engr who is close to 50. I work at every level and harder than freshers- coding, debugging, talking to customers and reporting/explaining out up to VPs. But unfortunately the fact is Im close to 50!
Though I have with very few needs (maybe 4K per month) I need to send my kids to college soon. So I need a job for at least 10 more years with health insurance.
All I wanted was some respect but if people respected me, it meant things were fine so they couldn't grow.
They don't know this but some day karma is going to bite them so hard, when it does, they will remember everyone, including the many guys who used to cry and the guy who said he could not have children because of the constant scolding.
You’re all outta your minds. I worked at other companies before and after Intel. None could stand up to Intel. I wouldn’t have stayed for 25 years if it sucked. Go work in the Space Industry or Government if you want dysfunctional. Whiners!

Sorry, but Intel doesnt deserve love. They lobby the government and i refuse to give my tax money to them.
It's like ending a bad relationship with a significant other. You can "stay friends" if things just didn't work out at that level, but you keep reliving the nightmare -and feeling angry- if it was pure he-l.

I don't miss Intel. The place changed so much with BK and changed more post-BK due to the lack of leadership. I was in GSM and it has been toxic for the past 5 years.

Left after 21 years, never looked back. Loved the job, it was the management that made it horrible. Till this day recruiters still call about openings at intel. That’s a nope! No money in the world I would sell my soul for that place.
Intel sticks with you like a std, but at least there was a little fun getting the std, no so with intel.
I used to work at Qualcomm for couple years and left about 7 years ago. Till this day I can't forget that toxic armpit culture like it was yesterday. Luckily I am in a much better place now.
There is a pending lawsuit with Intel for Systemic Age Discrimination during last layoff which included 16k employees world wide under Brian Krzanich.

Most people took the buyout, this ability should be legally taken from Intel.
Intel only learns from lawsuits and bad publicity. It never prevents itself from doing the wrong thing, but encourages scraping under the rug.

The problem with Intel is that you have no clue from inside, how much you are lagging from the rest of the world. So once people do manage to come out, the shock they get it is pretty intense. It takes time for it to fade.
uh yeah when a kn--e is plunged into your back it kinda does leave a mark
