Just had another conversation with one of the best employees in their position telling me they are leaving for greener pastures. I’ve lost count of the number that have left in the last 2-3 months.
I was excited for them. It actually wasn’t a shock as we talk regularly and I know they were frustrated in their role. They tried to apply for other roles here over the years but kept getting past over or told they didn’t hire anyone.
Everyday there is a news story about companies who don’t embrace WFH and force people back in office will lose out on top talent.
Pay is rather stagnant here at TR as we get our measly 2% -3% increase. While we know if we jump ship we can get anywhere from 25% to upwards of 50%.
Remember folks you need to look out for you first. I myself am looking as well as I know several more are. I am looking for a remote position and with luck should have something by the end of year.
Pay is not the main reason for me looking and for a lot that I talk to it’s not their only reason as well. For me my main concern is stagnation. I have been in the same role nearly 8 years. No room for growth and frankly with all the turnover I wouldn’t take a manager role either.
They say the best time to look for a job is when you already have one.
Good luck out there
