Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Times are tough at Chevron

Times are really tough at Chevron. After struggling through a big layoff and now longer working hours and chaos in the organization. My question to you all is what is your ice cold beer choice after a tough day at work? I go cheap and go with Lone Star.

I enjoy a hard Seltzer or Hard Cider. Definitely drinking more after the layoff and as things have gotten worse. I'll probably have more once we add commuting back.

Nice frosty glass of disinfectant coupled with a little sunlight for about a minute usually does the trick.

Single malt Scotch or Rye. Easier on the system than the brew, although a good homebrew is hard to beat.

Home brew. I am so happy I left under a year severance. My former co-workers seem miserable.

A delicate 20 year Pappy Van Winkle suits me just fine, only not before 11 am on work days normally.

Any Russian Imperial Stout that's over 11% ABV in a company-logo mug.

Can't get much higher quality than a bottle of everclear after a damn long day at the rig.

Nothing better than a cold Heineken.

Ironically. My drinking habits have greatly diminished since leaving the company. Frustration levels and having to deal with id--ts on a daily basis and meaningless meetings and poor decisions making instantly evaporated when I left as well as my need to sip my Mille lite as I turned off the video from teams meetings.

Nobody short of EVP can afford River Oaks. Montrose is cheap and has some great schools.

One of you guys should do a "Diversity Moment" and discuss implications of Redd Foxx or Fred Williamson selling Colt 45 or King Cobra, verses John Elway and Coors from Rockies, or perhaps the most exciting man around and Dos XX...discuss racial overtones as it relates to workplace and how you are better off as an employee and will work together ASAP with scribe minutes to team leads for review

If its an easy day I go with a shiner, if its an extra tough day Jack Daniels comes to visit.

During Teams meetings I drink wine from a coffee cup just like mom used to do.

There is no more “after” work - I fill my coffee cup up with mostly coffee but usually a bit of rum as well. Keeps the day humming along!

I've found that if you put a coozie around it, you can drink a hard seltzer while you're in a TEAMS call. Just have an empty Pepsi can next to you in case anyone challenges you. No dr-g testing while we're WFH.
