Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Do you ever get the feeling...

Do you ever get the feeling that global/regional is just playing the game of - how fast can we get good team members to quit?

So many stores have lost actual good members of team leadership (a rarity), buyers, and dependable team members due to these ridiculous expectations and standards.

This will go down in history as one of the most toxic companies i have ever worked for. I could actually feel the relief melt away as i handed in my resignation. 12 years, and for what?

It's WFM leaderships fault nobody wants to work for the company. Amazon didn't help but WFM ran itself into the ground and didn't dispose of all of the higher ups that allowed it to happen. WFM likes to pretend it's something special but it's just like every other retailer now same pay same garbage insurance and no TMs to work anymore.

Several leadership are leaving or stepping down or thinking about doing so. The replacements are terrible and get paid nearly as much as long term tm's so why should anyone work hard? On the other hand the turnover for new hires is at an all time high as well. Shelf conditions and customer satisfaction are at all time lows as well. Not sure why global can't figure out why that is and do something about it. It's glaringly obvious. Whole Foods is no longer special. Our customers are leaving us in droves. Not even people who live in the building shop there.

exactly what the poster below states...amazon wants a labor force that is paid slightly above average to entice employment but make them expendable through bad work conditions..they dont want long term workers who remember the "good ol' days of wholefoods" who may want to UNIONIZE..god forbid we should really have a say in what our benefits package looks like and not that sham vote we do every couple of years...

That is exactly what they are doing.
Amazon wants a disposable workforce.
They can pay less and don’t have to provide benefits to PT employees.
