It's not anonymous, I reported se-ual harassment and it was ignored and I received retaliation.

Definitely not anonymous or effective.

Someone reported a woman LL6 for daily being drunk on the job.
Now this woman was not your casual grab a drink at lunch kind of gal, but rather the daily drink from awakening until she blacked out kind of gal. She was found face down in the parking lot more than once. Scarily enough she picked her children up from school and drove them home in this condition.
There was a big “investigation” by HR, the woman knew ahead of time that the investigation was coming and solicited help in covering up her behavior and also started a witch hunt to find the snitch.
It was brutal as she didn’t know who was the snitch so she turned her wrath on multiple people.
In the end no action was taken against the woman, and her behavior continued.
A few months later she was arrested for drunk driving, driving home from work on her way to pick up her children from school, driving a Ford management lease car.
She continued to work drunk for Ford for another 12 years. An open secret. She was such a manipulative and vindictive person that people just tried to stay out of her way.

Yet another example of Ford HR and Ford leadership ignoring and covering up problems. Ford was very lucky that this woman did not cause serious harm to others while driving to and from work in the company lease car.

Well, isn't this a disappointment. After reading these replies, it has changed my tune on doing a detailed ratting out of a company test car scammer who for years has been cheating the company policy for his own personal benefit. When I say years, I mean at least 15-20. And, this person has even cracked up company cars conducting personal business while on company time.
You would think someone would rat him out by now, and you would be right. Goes to show that LL6, LL5, and at least LL4 levels do nothing and don't give a care, or are even promoting this behavior. HR is useless and I don't doubt retaliate against those who have said something.
Tell me this, what purpose does someone need a m plate every single day, every weekend and only comes to work to pick up a new suv to use its free gas and insurance. To top it off, all meetings are webex for the past 15 months, yeah, he really needs a company car for that.
Hey management and HR, you want to save the company money?? Get off you ash and open your eyes.

They are not anonymous! Someone (not me) reported a manager for some rather nasty behavior. I had worked for this person several years prior and was called by HR for an interview. HR said my feedback was anonymous but before the interview started I was given enough information that I knew exactly who reported them even though no names were given. That investigation ended with the manager being released. In another similar situation the manager was saying inappropriate things to his female direct reports, walking into their cubes and rubbing their shoulders, telling extremely inappropriate jokes, etc. Two woman complained anonymously. One was agency and was released shortly after the complaint, the other was a Ford person and upper management tried several times to fire her. She finally left Ford. Apparently this manager had friends in high places. The fact that I know these things proves the complaints are not anonymous.

I've never seen an HR department worth a damn to the employee in my life. They are there to protect the company and management. Period.

At one company I was at, we had a reorg. (Well an umpteenth time one in 2 years.) My team got the c*** from he-l that no one wanted as their manager and I mean no one. She took an instant disliking to me and half the team and I have no idea why. Eventually she and I had a come to Jesus meeting. She expected me to sit their and take her outright lies, berating and criticism. I didn't. I flipped the table on her and detailed why she was a horrible boss. The meeting concluded and we had an understanding that neither liked the other and we would be professional to each other.

The next day I got a meeting with HR. I was puzzled. It turns out the witch wrote me up for disrespect. And yes, I left the job soon after. She started with a team of 10. I was the 6th person to leave the team (with no replacements) and yet HR protected HER.

As for surveys, they are no way confidential or anonymous. At another job, one manager got negative remarks on the annual survey from a couple of their team. They were able to figure out who gave them and made their lives a living he-l and wrecked their careers.

The HR at Ford are some of the most evil conniving people I have ever met. So bad they must work hard in recruiting this behavior type. They go on in the Town Halls talking about how the company cares, blah blah but don't for a minute believe it. They are the execs guard dogs, nothing more and think nothing of destroying people if you dare speak up. Be wise, protect yourself. HR and management know all the garbage that goes on because they all have toadies that keep them informed. They chose to do nothing. You speak up, you expose the ruse, and then YOU ARE THE ENEMY and must go.

Back when I worked at Ford, I was told the Pulse survey was anonymous. Well, anyone who gave the manager bad feedback, got yelled at and retaliated against by the manager. Nothing is anonymous. I say it isn’t worth the risk to speak up. Just keep your head down and protect yourself.

No it is not anonymous
If you call the hotline, they have your phone # even if you *67. Second they have your voice.
Both these things and the content is provided to the leadership chain as the “investigation” occurs.
If the person(s) being reported are favored by the leadership chain the people being investigated will be told everything so that they can prepare for the inquiry. The preparation will likely involve ruining your reputation and career.

If you email speakup they have the origin IP address, yes you can take measures to ensure that the email can not be tracked back to you, but most people don’t know enough to obfuscate the origin. Again the email and any identifying information will be passed along to the leadership chain.

The only time a speak up complaint will actually have results is if the leadership chain wants the person gone. Otherwise a coverup and retaliation will occur.

My advice is if you want to file a complain do a physical letter, be sure not to print it on your personal printer or work printer, as the laser printers encode identifying information on the paper. Do not include any identifying information in your complaint, but provide specifics so that the complaint can be validated.

Where I work, they SAY they will "try" to keep it confidential. Which means, 1) it is NOT anonymous and likely 2) your 100 closest managers and HR personnel will know, and 3) you might eventually have to testify against the violator.

So, no, I doubt very much that it is anonymous.
