Innovation lag

What needs to happen for this to be an innovative company again like 20+ years ago? How far do they think it is possible to live off the old glory? I understand, innovation comes with risk, but I think it is possible to greatly accelerate the rate of innovation with limited risk.

Each employee should spend 20 percent of their time on an "innovation" project.

If the board of directors plays its cards right, they'll put Todd (as in Meraki Todd) in charge. Meraki being the picture-perfect success story it is means valuable lessons are to be learned here. Next to that, Cisco needs to spin off its entire services division into a separate company to get leaner.

May be... just may be we should spend less time here and more time innovating... Just a thought. Specially this anti-woke crowd.. Damn broda get a life man, get a hobby. This is no way to live a life. One day this is all gonna fade away, and you will be left with X number of years of your life worrying about the "ELT" and their "woke" culture, when in reality you were noone to any of them...

What’s the point of innovation if you don’t have any engineering resources to turn it into a product?

Hello Kids,
I joined Cisco 20 years back and quit in 2003. Cisco is never an innovative company. The good times are between 1993-98. Cisco has done good acquisitions and grown further.

So, there is never an innovation, just building a future from the past.

Jeetu breathed life into an underperforming cloud collaboration business unit within 12 months. Wonder what a guy like him could do if he had wider influence.

Wouldn't Chuck have to do what the Board of Directors tells him to do?

LOL cisco is not buying pensando. Chuck the cuck HATES john chambers. Cisco needs to purge chuck and the entire ELT. They need to be replaced with real leaders with an engineering background to focus on product. A total drop of all this social justice woke toxic brain washing.

Stop with the wokeness and invest the time back in running the business... Good people are leaving because they aren't up for corporate brainwashing.

Cisco is planning to buy Pensando.com which John Chambers is on the Board of Directors.

It is a Cloud company, which Cisco didn't get to do a few years ago and has not executed successfully.

Once they do make this acquisition, John will be back at Cisco, on the Board of Directors.

They have no choice.

Checkmate.

Acquire a startup with an innovative CEO. Allow the acquired startup CEO to lead & transform Cisco's culture. Stop promoting career politicians to leadership positions
