Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Major customer Boeing now offers remote work for some positions

Is MM reading this? Boeing is stating clearly this is one way to attract and retain top talent.

Can’t wait to work for Boeing, have 4 friends that left Honeyhell and are now there, more pay, better benefits, and greater flexibility, the talent losses to other companies is a strong reality for this place

It's not just customers but competitors.

Honeywagon does offer remote jobs as well - in India. Their vision of the future lies in the offshore sweatshop, so there's no real interest in currying favour with the North American or West European worker.

My site closed. I was allowed to WFH until the mandate came out.

I had to drive into a non SBU site. After awhile that was no longer an option and I was let go along with a few others in the same position.

I feel for the people hired on the premise of WFH to support our customer base.

Customers as well as employees no longer matter. They can handle CRS by using contract services or paid representatives.

Much cheaper then actual HON representatives.

Is Honeywell's plan to RIF WFH people who no longer have an office to go to? I will find out next week if this is the plan for me. I have been WFH for 18 years (no haters please - I'm in a customer facing role). They closed my assigned office last summer. The closest office is now over 4 hours away. Anyone else have experience with this or first-hand knowledge of this? I also hear "hub strategy" is in play, which tells me there will probably be more office closures and more RIFs for those who won't relocate.

Didn’t Boeing layoff 30k workers?
Remote work is just a gift to India.

Honeywell wants cheap talent, not top talent.
They've pushed plenty of top talent out the door, to be replaced by new-grad know-nothings.
