I negotiated my salary 4 years ago when I first started. I knew the kind of skills I could bring and what value they hold. I also know that those skills (and the new ones I acquired since) are no longer appreciated here so I started looking for something else. I have two offers so far but I’m still waiting on one response before I make my final decision. I wish more people here would realize how easy it is to find a new job if you have the right skills (and let’s face it, most of the people working here have them.) It would make your lives so much easier.

Not all certifications are worthless, but the days where a CCIE used to land you a job are long gone. Today, it isn't sufficient to just know enough IP networking. Combine a CCNP with an Azure or GCP or AWS cert and a K8s cert and you're set.
know codiing fundamentals also at a minimum
Is CCNP ok?
And stay away from the dangling carrots.
Thank you original poster. Well said. DO NOT let those bean counters and management demoralize you and undervalue your worth. Know your skills and value. I have been here long enough to see many dirty tactics they use to under value you.
Everyone please use this thread as encouragement.
Certifications are worthless. It's more difficult to obtain a Costco membership than most industry certifications.
Is the CCNA worhthess now with SDN and Cloud taking over?
