Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

What can stop a mass departure?

I also don’t believe that a higher pay could stop the mass departure of people that Nike is now facing. It's not all about the money. The best people are leaving.
I'm tired of the political mess that Nike has turned into and nothing can stop me from deciding to leave. For example, I was offered a job in a company for significantly less money and I will accept it. What could stop you from leaving?

You can’t stop the mass departure.

I am currently at adidas but have worked at Nike before. The same thing is happening at adidas. A SHOCKING amount of 10yr+employees are leaving. Some just quitting without a new job lined up.

Kn--e to the gut to see comments here saying Nike underpays cuz adidas is worse than Nike. adidas HR admitted that to me when I was discussing competitive salary info.

Anyway, as someone who has gone through this situation, I think with the forced-remote work, it became apparent how easy it is to work from home. I am fed up with poor decisions by leadership at adidas, so I began looking for a new full-time remote job. My functional expertise is a rather small market in Portland so full-time remote opened up a big compensation increase for me. I found a job after about 6 months of looking. The salary is 30% higher and another 30% in signing bonus and RSUs. Annual bonus is 2x what it was at adidas… and it is for a really interesting company with a potential to 10-20x in like 5 years.

Escaping the toxicity of adidas has been freeing. I encourage anyone feeling iffy about Nike to get out. You are worth a lot more than you think and Nike does not treat you well. Not worth it. Good luck!

Nike does not pay market (below market incase that needs to be spelled out).

There are people so desperate to work for the brand they will come on at crazy low salaries. Nike will never need to raise salaries because sadly there are people still chasing the alure of being a black badge.

So stupid
Do you honestly think they care?
There is a line of people waiting for a job at Nike. Everyone is replaceable
No one from Nike is staying up at night worried about finding replacement employees
Your not neuroscientist

@1sde As long as you're with Nike through May 31 you get your bonus... no need to wait until August.

let's start with a front-row parking space, free meals at the cafeteria for perpetuity, personal concierge to attend to all my appointments, unlimited expense account with no oversight, oh, and one of those shiny black Audi's to park in my personal space - You can own it and pay the insurance, I will just drive it.

Hey at least you’ll have a lot of parking spaces on WHQ after that PSP hits in August.

LOL it must be HR - duh money will make people stay. I know people leaving for other PDX jobs getting $80-100k more a year....don't even include the 100% remote jobs. Give tech stock and competitive pay and they will stay.

Consultants are useless, but even more so when the ship is sinking, they meet in the bathroom and say " Lets ask the forum for suggestions then use them as our own, we have this place so F..cked up no one will ever know.
