Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

How satisfied are you here in general?

I mean, how bearable is it? I'm getting more and more eager to find a new job and if I don't find it by next month, it will be really bad. I worked at several companies before I came here. No company is ideal, but Fidelity is definitely the worst thing that has happened to me, for many reasons.

cycle of change is speeding up. hard to settle into any role as things are shaken up every year or so.

if your not happy, then find something that makes you happy. i get it, i took the VBO because i was unhappy in how my role has changed, and couldn't find something else that would allow me to work remote and interest me. i will say this, with the company match, profit sharing, retiree medical, student loan reimbursement, (shares if you can get them), not a better company to help you get to retirement. most companies don't have anything so generous, and i would know. Good luck

I left Fidelity for another company.. Wish I could come back. One of the better companies out there. What a joke.

Fidelity is a good company to settle in with. It may not be obvious when you are young, but the benefits and 401K matching, profit share contributions etc. really add up over time. You may just be stuck in a bad role or have a bad boss. But try and see beyond that and transfer somewhere else internally if you can. Its a lot easier to transfer internally then to start up with a new company. Good luck!

There are great jobs at Fidelity, trust me. Little work, no responsibility at all. Gotta be proactive man! Sell your coworkers, make them work for you so you can look good to people who have jobs. Gotta learn to look away, but always sell. If you sell your coworkers answering phones, who cares. Plenty of those. They come and go.

So the place you work 'happens' to you?
You could plug 'Qwik-E-Mart' into your post.
Get a job.
