I would just like to thank HR for sending me a letter congratulating me on my retirement from ExxonMobil, when I was laid off in February. Nice. Twist that dagger a little more.

I was retired Nov 1st, my retirement gift just arrived today ~9 months
“Congratulations on your promotion to Customer”
I got a gold pin in the mail congratulating me for my one year anniversary. I was layed off a few days before I even reached the anniversary
Your unused vacation pay is usually processed 30 days after your last day of employment. So, you should have received it in 45 days. As for the retirement gift, good luck. It’s been taking up to one year to get your gift. If your service pin was sent to your Manager, you might receive it in a year….depending on how he/she feels. One unnamed UIS Manager held on to an employee’s gift and pin for 9 months just because she didn’t like the employee. That’s how pathetic some Managers are. Then you have even more pathetic people in protected positions who give out “gifts” that are quite offensive but, HR deems it OK. Hey HR you weren’t on the receiving end, you pathetic jerks!! I sit back and wait (with a smile) for you to be PIP’d.
Just wait until you have ordered your Retirement gift.
And keep waiting. It will not ever come.

I think all of us December lay-offs got this letter. Just shows how many id--ts continue to work there.
To be fair they’re working out the kinks of getting rid of all of HR (useless group of people) for a computer program
