Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Powerwalking Works! Got my job back!

I was PIP’d last year and I’ve been in a rut… I haven’t been able to find a direction in life without somebody telling me how I should feel about issues and what I should be working on. I’ve been on this board a lot longer than I’d like to admit

I saw the recent post on power walking and it’s supposed benefits. I figured, what do I have to lose ever since I lost it all? I grabbed my best clipboard and tightest pants (wanted to keep the gluteus firm) then headed out in the morning across the street from the campus entrance. 10 AM sounded about the right time for senior leadership to notice me. And then I started. I walked back and forth for not even 15 minutes, proper power walking stance of course, and old big D DW himself popped out of a bush and said there was something about me he liked and couldn’t quite put his finger on and that he’d like to offer me a job and increase my potential to CL-69

What can I say gentlemen! I’m eternally grateful for this board! Looking forward to reading more success stories

Humor aside. Turned down a PIP, bought running shoes, job hunted, lost 45 pounds, and I found a company that appreciates me. Exercise is good for the soul, confidence, and it'll help you get past the company that never cared. With some perspective behind me, I'd have to say that if you know you're not a "fit" at Exxonmobil, bounce.

How do you know you're not a good fit?

You bristle at the bull but still try to put on the yes sir face.

You've been in your role more than 3 years.

You think endless LPOs don't actually increase safety or reduce loss.

You actually care about your coworkers
