Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

No wonder we're having trouble hiring

Most people are smart enough to check out the company before applying. If you look at Glassdoor, Indeed, and this site, there are so many reviews that are warning off any potential employees by simply being truthful. Why would anybody want to join that kind of mess?

Even if people take a job at Sam's they will learn fast. The people that actually work get the short end of the stick.... so why work hard when you see others doing the the bare minimum. I am tired of seeing people on their phones constantly, I'm tired of people walking around but if Sam's club wants to pay these people for doing just that then what ever. I leave knowing I did my best of my ability and I am proud of that.

I checked out Glassdoor/indeed before starting. Unfortunately I live in a small area where the pay for what I used to do is no where near what I used to make. Apparently cost of living is lower. It's not. Only sales tax is lower. Gas is like... Maybe .50 less on a good day but everything is so far out that you end up gassing up a lot more. So I didn't have a lot of options for anywhere near what I used to make. Not even in the same job.

Sadly, Glassdoor and indeed reviews were dead on. So, I've been spending free time trying to find something monetarily comparable and closer to home for a while but then covid hit. So yea. Having to stick it out for now til something comes through.

People doing research before applying for a retail job? People doing research before applying for a retail job!

Not to mention that both Glassdoor and Indeed do not guarantee everyone on their websites are fully verified.
