Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Work hard or not, it doesn't matter?

It’s amazing to me how hard it is to get Nike to really notice that a person is a high performer. I gave my best for a long time, I tried as hard as I could, and it didn't bring any results. At Nike I had the same status when I worked enough for 3 people and now when I work the bare minimum.

Well I guess you finally figured out that it often has less to do with merit, or how much work you do, more than who you know.

I've said it more than once on this board, but Nike at this point is just a giant buffet of money that these overfed executives (and their friends) are gorging on while the rest of us just sit around and wait for someone to tell us what to do.
