Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Is it really that simple for recovery, Grovian and water

Lots of fancy spin, seems some TA has poured some koolaid into Pats drink.

“Intel has been struggling, and Gelsinger says that stems from “the cultural aspects.”

“Grovian culture” of “disciplined decision making” and a “tough, aggressive, engineering-centric culture.”

“As soon as the first rain comes, the flowers start blooming [and] it comes back quickly. But when you fall behind in key areas, it takes you awhile.”

Sorry a little rain from Pat and some kick a$$ won’t fix Intel anytime soon nor a bunch of tax payer money either.

Yep, CNBC trashed PG and intel today, telling viewers that they are better off betting on Lisa and amd.

Just the usual worthless bloviation from Pat, who does not have the guts to exterminate the weeds infestation right in front of him. How can flowers bloom when there are 300+ VPs whose sole aim is to boost their sycophant empires in order to engage in internecine political battles with each other?

old culture was always cr-p. technical assistants for base bi--h VP's? chiefs of staff? what kind of tech company hires non-technical management and sets up a system where the engineers have to go into political agreements with glorified servants to get promoted?

The old culture is long gone replaced with Inclusion and Diversity and Social Justice agenda... don't you agree?

The next generation workforce knows very little of old Intel from 80s/90s.

@srn+1bjKmA0G Quite the opposite. Pat typifies the bloviation, backstabbing and incompetence that drove marginalized engineers from intel to apple to make the M1.

The world is very different than when Grove pivoted from DRAMs to CPUs.

Intel had a architectural monopoly and captive high margin process. Combine that with Grove’s and later CRB leadership they leveraged it to process and manufacturing leadership.

Sadly PSO, BK, BS squandered it all. PG is a smart guy and like all ambitious and successful leaders has good drive and a nice dream.

Sadly but Intel has no corner on Grovian culture of paranoia, engineer discipline and all the other fancy adjectives of successful companies.

The competitive landscape in silicon technology and manufacturing is very different from the days of from 852 to 1270 where they had leadership. It is totally different and LTD and and TMG really haven’t a clue about how and what it takes to be successful. The analogies are similar to IBM and computers, Motorola/Nokia in phones. Frankly the only reason Intel hasn’t gone the way of Motorola and Nokia is the captive x86 and AMD is really looking like it could be the Godzilla slayer but luckily for the agnostic view of foundry they likely will welcome Intel and AMD in the same house so Intel can limp along, but they are finished as an stand alone technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing.

They have chance as a design house, but manufacture it is FUBAR

PG grew up with Intel old corporate culture, which is made Intel a great company. After he left Intel, culture has shifted. This culture trained 50% of Apple M1 design team at Intel. Pat is damn right.
